Mr. Kenneth O. Brady, former employee of Westinghouse, died on January 15, 2026, at St. Martin’s Home in Catonsville, MD.
Mr. Brady was 104. He was born in Baltimore and as a child was placed in the Hershey Industrial School (now the Milton Hershey School) in Hershey, PA in 1929 after his father died in 1928. He graduated from the School in 1940 and returned to Baltimore. After a short employment at the Glenn L. Martin Company he was drafted during WWII into the Army Air Corps and served in the Troop Transport Command until discharged in 1946. He returned to Martin’s for another short time and then enrolled in the New York Technical Institute for electronics. This led to his employment at Westinghouse as an electronics Technician.
Mr. Brady retired from Westinghouse in 1985 after 32 years of diversified employment. He was first employed in 1952 as an electronics tester and then into Management as a first line Supervisor of testing. He then moved into middle management as Manager of testing and inspection in Quality Control. In order to learn more about inspection he joined the American Society for Quality (ASQ) and became active in its Inspection Division. In a few years he became Chairman of the Inspection Division. This experience led him into Quality Engineering at Westinghouse.
Each year ASQ holds an annual technical conference in a different U.S. or Canadian city. For the 1982 conference in Detroit, Westinghouse management was asked to coordinate the technical program for the conference. Mr. Brady was asked by Management to be the active participant in coordinating the program. From this experience, Mr. Brady was asked again to coordinate the May 1985 technical program for the conference that was held in Baltimore. Several weeks after this conference, Mr. Brady retired. He and his wife then moved to Vero Beach, Florida and lived there for 19 years before moving back to Severna Park, Maryland in 2005.
Mr. Brady is survived by his children, Michele and Keith, both of Catonsville, MD.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Martin's Home, 601 Maiden Choice Ln, Catonsville, MD 21228.
