November 12, 1946 – October 3, 2023
Kenneth Brown of Arnold, MD, peacefully passed away on October 3, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born to Gene Brown and Peggy Sue Brown on November 12, 1946 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Ken is survived by his loving children Aaron (Kia), Jeremy (Jen), and Nate (Jen), step-children Ben Lambert (Ingrid) and Anne Sloan (Mike), his sister Janice Gordon, niece Skye Billingsly, and five cherished grandchildren – Harper, Carter, Elliott, Adelyn, and Amelia – who will forever hold his memories close. Ken is preceded in death by his devoted wife, Marguerite Brown.
He was a proud alumnus of Hot Springs High School, Class of 1964, and the University of Arkansas Class of 1969. He earned a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary and a Master of Liberal Arts from Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) in 1980. Ken served as pastor for various United Methodist Churches throughout his life, including Associate Pastor of the Severna Park United Methodist Church. He also served various leadership roles at other churches during his career, including at Kent Island United Methodist, Glen Mar United Methodist (Ellicott City, MD), Mount Zion United Methodist (Martinsburg, WV) and even a few months at various Methodist churches in Germany. He continued to spread his unwavering faith until his final days. Ken's curiosity knew no bounds. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and keeping up with friends. His favorite hobbies included collecting stamps and coins, researching genealogy and studying US and German history. His greatest passion was finding ways to help others.
A funeral service to celebrate Ken's life will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 11:00am at the Severna Park United Methodist Church at 731 Benfield Rd, Severna Park, MD.

Ken will be remembered as a disciple of Christ, dedicated father, and caring friend. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and a life well-lived.
