Kathleen B. Garner, 96, of Cumberland, MD died of natural causes at Millennium Health and Rehabilitation Center-Marley Neck on September 23, 2008.

Mrs. Garner was born on November 4, 1911 in West Virginia. She was raised in Bretz, WV and resided in Cumberland for over 75 years. She married Wilmer M. Brown on Dec. 25, 1933. She was a textile worker for Celanese Fibers for twenty-five years.

Mrs. Garner was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cumberland, MD. She enjoyed fishing, hiking, outdoor activities, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mrs. Garner is survived by her daughter, Rosalie A. Jones of Arnold, MD; her two grandchildren, Kevin S. Jones of Pasadena, MD and Jonelle J. Newman of Arnold, MD; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Brown.
