Kathleen M. Gaboury McVay, 57, of Arnold, died of cancer July 3 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. McVay was born in Providence, R.I., and was married in 1967 to Larry R. McVay.
She received her nursing degree from Anne Arundel Community College in 1974 and worked at local hospitals and care centers throughout the county.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed travel, genealogy research and reading.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Jeffrey W. McVay of Elkridge and James F. McVay of Hagerstown; and her parents. She was the sister of James W. Gaboury who died in 1997.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsvile. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Route 3 North, Gambrills, MD 21054.
