Katharine "Betty" Roesler, 92, of Annapolis and formerly a 53-year resident of Arnold, died of natural causes Feb. 3 at Genesis Nursing Home, Spa Creek, after a brief illness.
She was born Dec. 7, 1915, in Baltimore and raised in Brooklyn Park.
She formerly worked as a florist at her family's business, Lehrs Florist.
She was a volunteer with the Anne Arundel Medical Center Auxiliary and the Clothes Box. She also was a member of the Rotary Club's Inner Wheel and the Lutheran Mission Society.
Known for her devotion to her church and faith, Mrs. Roesler also enjoyed flower arranging and working on church altar arrangements. A homemaker, she also enjoyed travelling, dogs, and baking.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis William Roesler Sr.; one brother, William Lehr; and one sister, Mary Jackson.
Survivors include two sons, Francis William Roesler Jr. of Severna Park and Charles Thomas Roesler of Vienna, Austria; one daughter; Katharine Roesler Peterson of Laurel; and two granddaughters.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 308 Oak Manor Drive in Glen Burnie. Interment is private.
