Katharine How

Katharine Brown "Kitty" How, 94, of Annapolis, died of natural causes March 17 at Ginger Cove Health Center.

Born May 14, 1910, in Cleveland, Mrs. How graduated from Wellesley College with a bachelor of arts degree in biblical history.

Mrs. How was a longtime member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, where she served in various capacities.

An active volunteer, she held leadership roles in the Severn River Garden Club, Meals on Wheels and the YWCA's of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Annapolis.

She was the widow of Edward King How, her husband of 48 years; and sister of the late Fletcher and Henry Brown.

Surviving are two daughters, Suzanne Troutman of Montville, N.J. and Janet Accardo of New York City; one son, Edward How Jr. of Vero Beach, Fla.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park. Burial is private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home in Severna Park.
