Karen Sue Schmuff, 65, a long-time resident of Glen Burnie, passed away on April 8, 2018 at her home.  She was born on April 26, 1952 in Morgantown, West Virginia. She was the daughter of an Army officer, spending her childhood in many different states and countries, including Italy and Germany.  She graduated from High School in Cinnaminson, New Jersey and settled in Severna Park, Maryland when her father retired. She spent most of her career as a Dietary Manager in nursing homes throughout Anne Arundel County, retiring in 2012.

Karen was a devout Christian and was active in her church community with her mother.  She enjoyed playing board games, especially Yahtzee and Scrabble. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Schmuff, who passed away in 2009; her brother, David Snyder, and her father, Edward Snyder, both in 2005.  She is survived by her mother, Della Mae Snyder of Severna Park; her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Ronald Colvin, of Severn; a niece, Jennifer Colvin, of Pasadena; and nephew, Christopher Colvin, of Glen Burnie.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy.  Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1pm in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
