It is with great sadness that the family of Kamal B. Kardosh announces his passing on Friday March 5, 2021 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). Kamal will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Pamela, and his four children: Adrienne, Paul (Amber), Kate (Bryan), and Chris (Alecia). Kamal's infectious enthusiasm for life will also be missed by his siblings Michael (Sausan), Adib (Buthaina), Renee (Anis), and Clare (deceased), six grandchildren, twenty six nieces and nephews, and a small army of in-laws.

Born in 1947 in Nazareth, Israel to Yavon and Boulos Kardosh, Kamal immigrated to the United States in 1967 after receiving a soccer scholarship at a small school in Nebraska. Kamal's educational pursuits led him through the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire where he earned his Masters degree in Chemistry and met his soulmate Pam, with marriage following in 1974. Kamal earned his PhD in food science from The Ohio State University. Kamal integrated his love of science and food into a successful career at Unilever-Best Foods where he proudly worked for the majority of his career.

Kamal's interests were numerous and diverse. Kamal excelled at both teaching and playing sports, while encouraging those around him to pursue their interests. Among the many sports he played, he was particularly dedicated to soccer, skiing, ping pong, golf, and tennis winning a Senior Doubles USTA Championship. He also loved the outdoors, passing his passion to his family. Weekends with Kamal frequently included camping, hiking, fishing, or going to the beach. In addition to active pursuits, Kamal was an avid reader, traveler and entertainer, always seeking out new experiences to share with others. Most memorably, Kamal combined reading and travel with love of food, family, and friends: a restaurant review in the newspaper often triggered a group outing to the nearest city.

Kamal's seemingly unlimited supply of energy coupled with generosity left a positive mark on the world. He was a 3 rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, receiving recognition as Salt of the Earth in 2015 for his contributions.  Kamal strongly believed in the importance of those less fortunate and his compassion and love was felt by all who knew him. In addition to his dedication to church causes, Kamal volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need, never offering a hint of complaint.

There will be a small ceremony for Kamal's immediate family at St. Andrew by the Bay. There will be a live video broadcast for others who wish to attend on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 12pm at https://www.facebook.com/St.AndrewByTheBay/ . Interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Multiple System Atrophy Foundation. Donations are used to fund research, aid patients, and provide resources to MSA Warriors and their families. A memorial page has been established in his honor ( https://charity.gofundme.com/in-loving-memory-of-kamal ).
