June Ruth Doering of Severna Park died Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Anne Arundel Hospital from complications of a blood disorder. She was born in Baltimore, September 29, 1928, to Hattie & Windsor Purdum.

Mrs. Doering graduated from Patterson Park High. In 1951, she married Ensign Eugene Doering and is survived by two sons, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

As a Navy wife, Mrs. Doering accompanied her husband to duty stations in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Kansas, California, Washington, Japan and Washington, DC.

Her interests were spending time with family & friends; gardening; music and singing in choirs; Oriole baseball; sailing; sitting on the beach watching the waves & listening to the sound of the ocean. She faithfully served others through Meals On Wheels and provided child care at church. She enjoyed sponsoring USNA plebes.

Family will receive friends at Barranco Funeral Home for a viewing Thursday, June 10 between 4:00 - 7:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church on Friday, June 11, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in early August.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society or Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center.
