Julita "Lita" Bastian passed away on January 29, 2021 due to Covid-19.  Lita was a long-time resident of Severna Park.

Lita was born in Umingan, Pangasinan, Philippines and lived in Manila prior to her departure to the United States.

She worked as a cashier for Host Marriott at BWI Airport for 21 years, arriving in the wee hours of each morning, all too eager to offer the passengers a cheery "hello" or "have a good trip" with her radiant smile as they made their purchase.

The welfare of her family in the Philippines was of great importance to her.  She has 8 brothers and sisters and a large extended family who currently reside there.  She never failed to support them in any way that she could.  If ever there was a request for help, she would always willingly do so.  She and her husband made 14 trips over a period of 28 years to visit them, usually just prior to the Christmas holidays in order to bring them presents and her sisterly love.

Lita was a very devout Roman Catholic, having set up a chapel in her home dedicated to Our Lord and Mother Mary, where she spent countless hours in prayer.  Having been a frequent parishioner of Baclaran Redemptorist Church in the Philippines, she had a special devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

Lita was a truly humble person, never wishing to talk about herself, but always very eager to listen to friends or neighbors describe what was going on in their lives.

She is survived by her loving husband (and soulmate) of 30 years, Mark of Severna Park.  They were virtually inseparable, like two peas in a pod, spending every hour enjoying each other's company, separated only during the day by work and never at night.  Whether grocery shopping, travelling, visiting with friends, attending church, etc., they always did it together.

Friends may visit on Thursday February 4, 2021 from 2:0pm-4:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146.
