Julie Ann (Howell) Gallimore passed away peacefully at her home in Annapolis, Maryland on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at age 75. Mrs. Gallimore was born in Wilmette, Illinois on February 5, 1947 to Olympic champion Richard Elm Howell Sr. and Elizabeth Ann (Fletcher) Howell.

A resident of Chicago's north shore, Mrs. Gallimore attended New Trier High School where she embraced a love of acting. As an accomplished actress with Chicago's notable The Second City Theater, she performed alongside future Hollywood luminaries including Bill and Brian Murray. Later in life, her theater experience landed her a role as an extra in the 1998 hit film "Deep Impact."

Mrs. Gallimore earned her Bachelor's degree in education at the University of Tulsa where she met her husband, the late E.H. Dale Gallimore, Jr. She was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and was involved in numerous events and fundraisers for the sorority throughout her life.

After moving to Alexandria, Va. in the 1970's, Mrs. Gallimore volunteered for the Republican Party and managed successful campaigns for numerous local politicians and President Ronald Reagan. Despite her political leanings, she taught her children the importance of ensuring everyone has a seat at the table regardless of ideology.

Following a move to Gross Pointe Park, Michigan in 1982, Mrs. Gallimore became a staunch advocate for the rights of learning-disabled students. She was instrumental in effecting policies designed to enhance learning opportunities and intellectual growth for this cohort long before the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. She regularly volunteered in her children's schools and contributed to curriculum development.

After moving to Severna Park, Maryland in 1988, Mrs. Gallimore developed a love for bridge and became highly competitive in local bridge groups. She and her family also enjoyed boating in the Chesapeake Bay. Nearing the end of her life, Mrs. Gallimore became a print editor for several indie publishers and edited the final draft of best-sellers including Fifty Shades of Grey.

Mrs. Gallimore was a Mayflower Descendant and an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and her family were devoted long-time members of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Her positive and optimistic outlook on life was infectious to all she met. She was generous with her time and always willing to help those in need. She taught the importance of hard work, persistence, and respecting all regardless of difference.

Mrs. Gallimore was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard E. Howell Jr of Mundelein, Illinois and Bob Howell of San Luis Obispo, California. She is survived by her two sons, E.H. Dale Gallimore III of Arnold, Maryland; Robert HB Gallimore of Frederick, Maryland; grandchildren E.H. Dale Gallimore IV and Cassidy Elizabeth Gallimore of Arnold; Noah James Howland Gallimore and William Riley Emerson Gallimore of Frederick, MD, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park, Maryland. Burial will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Maryland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Severna Park, MD 21146.
