Judith Walsh Harris, 81, a resident of Severna Park, MD for the past 42 years, died of heart failure on Saturday, January 9th at Anne Arundel Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Always a loving sister, mother , grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her brother, Bill Walsh of Millington, NJ; her children Bill (Vickie) of Pasadena, MD, Steve (Linda) of Severna Park , Cindy Love ( John Gygax) of Severna Park, David (Juli) of Phoenix, MD, Barb of Pasadena, MD , and Debbie Compere (Dave) of Millersville, MD; 11 grandchildren, Erin Love Lowry (Jaysen), Matt Love (Erin), Bethany Love, Stevie Harris, Laura Harris, Chris Harris, Kevin Harris, Rachel Harris, Gretchen Compere, Allie Compere and John Compere and great granddaughter Evelyn Lowry and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, William Harris, her brother John, her son-in-law Jamie Love and her parents Jean and John Walsh.
Judy was born and raised in the Bronxville, NY area where she lived with her parents and two brothers. She graduated from Elmira College in 1955. Judy married William W. Harris in Dec. of 1955 after meeting him on a blind date 6 months prior. After moving to Severna Park in 1973, Judy worked for many years with her family at their business, Word Movers, Inc. Judy was an active member of the Severna Park Chamber of Commerce, SPAN, Aspire, and various committees at her church parish of Our Lady of the Fields.
Judy enjoyed current events, her book club and cross word puzzles, yet nothing more than spending time with her family, grandchildren and great granddaughter. She will be remembered for her lively personality, wisdom, love, laughter, and of course the chocolate chip cookies!
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14th from 2-4 & 6-8pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, Millersville, MD on Friday, January 15th at 11am with interment in the Church Cemetery. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
