Judy Emery
Dr. Judy Alice Emery, 62, of Arnold, died Dec. 13 at her home after a battle with multiple system atrophy.
Dr. Emery was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Tennessee, and was a graduate of Northeastern Bible College, Eastern Michigan University and the University of Vermont. At the time of her retirement she was assistant dean for medical education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
She leaves her partner, Dr. Patricia A. Prescott; their daughter, Kathryn Anne Prescott; two sons, Allan Emery of Arlington, Va., and Steve Emery of Syracuse, N.Y.; her daughter, Kim E. Okesson of Machakos, Kenya; her mother, Willie C. Jobe of Jonesborough, Tenn.; two sisters, Brenda Bemesderfer of Canton, Mich., and Dr. Jennie L. Jobe of Clinton, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
A celebration of life will beheld at 4 p.m. today at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 333 Dubois Road. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
