Judith Ann Tyler Trippett September 10, 1940 – January 2, 2026

Judith Ann Tyler Trippett passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 85 years old.

Judith was born on September 10, 1940, in Cambridge, Maryland, and was raised on Hoopers Island, a place that forever shaped her love of family, community, and hard work. She was one of four children born to Laurena and Cecil Tyler, alongside her brother Maurice Tyler and sisters Linda Tyler and Jean Tyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurena and Cecil Tyler; her sister Linda Tyler; her brother Maurice Tyler; and her beloved husband of 54 years, Dr. Michael Edward Trippett.

Judith attended Salisbury State College and later Bowie State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She began her professional life as a teacher in the county school system, a calling that reflected her lifelong passion for nurturing and guiding children. It was during her time as a teacher that she met the love of her life, Dr. Michael Edward Trippett.

Judith and Michael were married for 54 years and built a life rooted in devotion, partnership, and shared purpose. Together they raised three children: Jason Trippett, Doward Jones, and Michael Trippett.

After several years in public education, Judith and Michael ventured into private early childhood education when they purchased the Severna Park Children’s Centre. Judith became the director of the center, while Michael supported her in many aspects of its operation. Under her leadership, the center touched the lives of thousands of children and families in the community. Judith was deeply committed not only to education but also to giving back, spearheading numerous community-focused initiatives and outreach efforts.

Throughout their lives, Michael and Judith pursued several successful entrepreneurial endeavors, always maintaining their deep interest in the growth, development, and well-being of children. Judith’s work ethic, vision, and compassion were central to the success of these efforts.

Judith maintained a strong Christian faith throughout her life and was a devoted member of Pasadena Methodist Church, where her faith, service, and fellowship were an important part of her daily life.

Judith was a proud and devoted grandmother to Skyler, Cole, Emma, and Lola Trippett. She was actively involved in their lives and cherished every moment spent with them. Her grandchildren were a great source of joy and pride, and she delighted in watching them grow.

Judith believed strongly in hard work, personal responsibility, and living up to one’s potential. She was the glue that held her family together—the steady presence, guiding force, and quiet strength behind their success. Her love, wisdom, and energy shaped generations, and her legacy will live on through her family and all the lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
