IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith K.
Schneider
June 30, 1947 – May 7, 2023
Judith Kay Schneider of Glen Burnie, MD, died in her home on May 7, 2023 with her sister, Mary Louise at her side. She was 75 years old.
Judith is survived by her sister, Mary Louise DiGiacinto of Nottingham, MD, and her two nieces, Carrie Stangl, her husband Chris and daughter Ashley of Frederick, MD, and Erica Stockford, her husband Todd and their children Connor and Allison of Parker, CO. She was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Ann Brown, and parents Frank and Melba Schneider.
Judith was born on June 30, 1947 in Ohio. She graduated from the University of Tulsa and moved to California and began a decades-long career in communications and public relations within the Aerospace industry. During her time at Rocketdyne she was a team member on both the Apollo and Space Shuttle programs and was present at several of the lift-offs.
Judith enjoyed an array of hobbies during her life from horseback riding and waterskiing in her youth to later sewing and crafting, gardening and watching football. Her greatest hobby and love, however, was her pets. Her beloved dogs that preceded her death, Sandy, Chevy, Glaser and Antonio, brought her immense joy and were her life, along with her cats. She volunteered with Canine Companions for Independence, by working with puppies in their initial training as they became service dogs for children and adults with disabilities. One of the dogs she trained, Antonio, graduated from the program and served as service dog to his owner for 13 years. Nothing made her happier than spending time walking in the woods with the dogs and her best friend, Carol, enjoying the outdoors and feeding the birds.
Although she suffered with several medical conditions which slowly and severely limited her physical abilities, Judith never let them define her and she remained fiercely independent. She was incredibly generous and supported numerous organizations and would help anyone that needed it. She will be remembered by those who knew her for her love and generosity and independent spirit. We know she was greeted in heaven by a stampede of kisses, tail wags and purrs.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Judith's life on Monday, May 15, 2023 from 10am to 12pm at the Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
