IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith K.
Genetti
December 9, 1943 – May 14, 2024
Judith Kay [Jeffers] Genetti, 80, of Chester, Maryland, peacefully went to be with the Lord after a brief illness on May 14, 2024.
Judy was born on December 9, 1943 to Richard and Mary Virginia Jeffers in Cincinnati, Ohio. Growing up in a military family, Judy moved often before settling down in Maryland where she graduated from St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, Maryland in 1962.
During college, Judy met Thomas R. Genetti at Ft. Meade in 1963 and they were married in June, 1965, upon his graduation from the United States Military Academy. During Tom's 28-year career they raised three children: Thomas Keith Genetti, Kathleen Genetti Ruesch, and Virginia Kay Genetti Peralta. Judy's greatest joy was raising her three children and keeping a pristine home.
Upon Tom's military retirement in 1993, the couple moved permanently to Maryland, most recently settling on the Eastern Shore. Tom and Judy spent their retirement time traveling the world, Judy's favorite pastime. In her lifetime she was able to visit all seven continents along with countless foreign cities and countries. Her sense for adventure proved to be contagious as all of her children share the same love of travel.
When not traveling the globe, Judy loved spending time with her family, sitting together talking, laughing, and sharing stories. Some of our greatest laughs were at Judy's expense as she was notorious for misquoting popular phrases inevitably bringing a cascade of laughter from everyone gathered. Our memories of these moments will bring us laughter for years to come.
Judy was predeceased by her father, Richard Jeffers, and her mother, Mary Virginia Jeffers. Judy is survived by her husband, Thomas R Genetti; her sister, Virginia Chase; and her three children: Thomas K Genetti (Michele Francoeur Genetti), Kathleen A. Reusch (Ronald L. Reusch), and Virginia K. Peralta (Jason O. Peralta).
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday May 20, 2024 from 3:00pm-6:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care,P.A. 495 Ritchie hwy Severna Park, MD 21146.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization Judy felt strongly about.
