Judge Donald Morris Lowman, a lifetime resident of Anne Arundel County, passed away on July 11, 2022.

Donald was born to Fern (nee Snapp) and Roland Lowman on January 19, 1928 in Brooklyn Park, MD, where he was also raised. He graduated from Glen Burnie High School, then Eastern College and earned his law degree from Mt. Vernon School of Law. He went into private practice with Larry Rushworth before becoming a public defender for Anne Arundel County. He was then appointed a Judge of the District Court.

Judge Lowman loved golf, boating and poetry. He and his wife Dorothy enjoyed travel overseas, visiting Japan and Europe.  They also liked visiting different casinos in the US.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Lowman, in 2014; his son, Aubrey Lee Lowman in 1974; his son, Donald Dale Lowman, in 2020; his two sisters, Marion Dorr and Norma Beauchamp; and his two brothers, Carroll Lowman and Aubrey Lowman. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 10am-12pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. The funeral service will be held following the visitation and begin at 12pm at the funeral home. The burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Hwy Ste E, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Department, Special Olympics, or to a charity of your choice.
