Joyce was born on November 26, 1947, in Glen Burnie, MD, to Franklin and Valerie Bradford.

She graduated Glen Burnie High School in 1965 and married Gary Smallwood in 1966. Joyce traveled as a Navy wife from 1966-1973. Her husband Gary served on the USS Forrestal during the Vietnam Conflict. Together they had two boys, Gary Jr. and Scott Smallwood.

Joyce was employed with A&P grocery, followed by Property Management with Comanco, to a long career in real estate. She was the top 5% Realtor in Maryland for several years.

She married Glenn Durbin in 2007. They moved to Centreville, MD. Joyce loved gardening, travel, feet in the sand anywhere, spending most of her time in Ocean City, Md.

Joyce is survived by her Husband Glenn Durbin, former Husband Gary Smallwood Sr, one Sister (Diane Burris of Severna Park and Husband Joel Burris), brother Fred Bradford and wife Elena of Florida, both Sons, Gary and wife Susan Smallwood, and Scott Smallwood, Grandchildren (Caitlin, Tyler, Jake, Avery, Ava, Alexis, Kiera, Jesse, Cody, and Jenna), twin nieces Loagan and Lauren, Niece Aimee Coffee, Nephew Michael Burris, and numerous other Nieces and Nephews.

Her brothers Franklin Bradford Jr. and Wayne Bradford preceded Joyce in passing.

A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A memorial service will follow the gathering and begin at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
