Joyce Adams died at home December 3 surrounded by family and friends.
Born on May 11, 1932 in Rulo, Nebraska, she grew up in Wymore, Nebraska the oldest of five children. She married Harold Adams in 1954, and they moved to Severna Park in 1966.

Joyce worked all her life, first as a bookkeeper and in later years as a typist for Hunt Reporting Company.

She was very involved in Severna Park United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir, played handbells, was part of the "money counters", and served on many committees over the years. She loved to read, she loved the beach, and she was a great bowler. But mostly she loved spending time with her family.

She lost her husband in 1994, but is survived by her children; Terri Beatty of Shelton Connecticut, Steve Adams and his wife Kathy of Atlanta Georgia; grandchildren Chris Beatty and his wife Sarah of Washington, DC, Michelle Beatty of New Orleans, Louisiana, Zak Beatty of Shelton, Connecticut, David Adams and Michael Adams, both living in Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Darryl Arnold and Dick Arnold and one sister Shirley Yockel all living in Nebraska.

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, she will be deeply missed.

There will be a Memorial service held on Saturday December 8, 2012 at 11:00am in the Severna Park United Methodist Church 731 Benfield Rd Severna Park, MD 21146.
