Josephine T. Keener, 75, of Millersville, died of heart failure Oct. 15 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie.
Born Jan. 21, 1931, in Leechburg, Pa., and reared in Freeport, Pa., Mrs. Keener formerly lived in Cheverly, Frankfurt, Germany, and Asmara, Ethiopia, where she worked for the American Red Cross. She received a bachelor's degree from Grove City College in Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Keener was a longtime member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church. She was a career homemaker, military wife and mother who enjoyed singing in church choirs and playing the piano.
She was predeceased by her parents, a sister and a brother.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond Keener; one son, David Keener of Millersville; one daughter, Corby Bailey of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where a service will follow. Visitation also will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport, Pa. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Memorial Park in Freeport.
