Joseph Peter Tominovich Sr., 73, of Elkridge and a past resident of Crofton and Annapolis, died of cancer Sept. 6 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

The son of Joseph and Mary Scalet Tominovich, Mr. Tominovich was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Kulpmont, Pa., and graduated from Kulpmont High School in 1950. He served in the Navy as an electrician for four years and then attended Temple University.

He worked for Pangborne Electric and Fishbach and Moore Inc. in Philadelphia as a project manager and estimator. In 1972 he was involved with a lighting project for Interstate 95 and later became a partner in M&T Electric, where he retired after 17 years. Subsequently he was a consultant for Chesapeake Electrical Systems.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Naval Academy Golf Club.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Helen Marie Schneider Tominovich, whom he married Nov. 30, 1957; one son, Joey Tominovich of Clarksville in Howard County; two daughters, Patty Keyser of Millersville and Amy Trinite of Elkridge; one sister, Anna Rosetta of Kulpmont;; two brothers, Jack Tominovich of Centreville and Danny Tominovich of Chalfont, Pa.; and eight grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Mary Bowers.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow and from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 801 Stevenson Road in Severn. Burial is private.
