Joseph Anthony Spiegel, 82, passed away from complications with Parkinson's disease on January 6, 2023. Joe was born on March 20, 1940 in Baltimore, MD and later resided in Cape St. Claire for 46 years. After graduating from Kenwood High School, he spent three years in the Army before marrying (the late) Elizabeth Kathleen Daffin on June 22, 1962. He retired from the banking industry after 22 years and was employed by the Fisherman Magazine as their Western Shore Field Editor for nine years. He spent many of his post retirement years mating on charter boats as a commercial fisherman. He had a passion for the outdoors, particularly for fishing and hunting, as well as taxidermy, lure making and repairing fishing rods. Highlights of his life include his marriage, children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter; seeing them harvest deer and enjoy the outdoors as he did. He is survived by two sons, Glenn Ralph Spiegel and Michael Anthony Spiegel (Karen), his two grandchildren, Derek Spiegel and Lauren Spiegel (Zach) and a great granddaughter, Mia Spiegel.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2022 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org
