IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joseph C.
Rosendale
June 7, 1956 – December 28, 2016
In a world full of syrupy decaf lattes, Joseph Charles Rosendale was a cup of Maxwell House. Original, Strong & Simple. The real deal. I'm sorry if you never had the chance to meet him because you would have been great friends. He made friends wherever he went.
Joe died Wednesday morning after a stroke, leaving behind a long trail of broken hearts, including his beautiful wife of 31 years, Barbara Ann Rosendale. He was 60 years old.
Joe grew up in Herald Harbor, Maryland with his mother, Margaret Elizabeth Spurlin and his brother, Clark Rosendale along with his late father, Clark Francis Rosendale, step-father, Jake Spurlin, and brother Steve Rosendale. He left Severna Park High School to join the Army before working in Crofton, Maryland as a dump truck driver then Plant Foreman at Cunningham Sand and Gravel. Joe eventually realized his true passion, however, in car sales, finance and management, where his warm, friendly demeanor led to a successful career, beginning and ending at Keene Dodge.
Joe's leisure time was spent doing the things he loved. In his earlier years, he enjoyed working the starting line at Capital Raceway with his son Joey. As time passed, he moved onto the Softball field with his friends "The Outcasts". In his later years, there was no other place he'd rather be than spending his time with his Grandchildren in the home he was so proud of.
Joe is survived by his wife Barb, son, Joseph Clark Rosendale, 39 with his wife Amy, and daughters Megan Elizabeth Rosendale, 30, Nichole Ann Baab , 25 and her husband Seth.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, twins Ally and Cole Rosendale, 6, Sienna Baab, 2, and Lola Baab, 4 months.
A viewing is scheduled on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home in Severna Park. Funeral services will be held the next day, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 9:00 am at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
To remember Joe best, please enjoy a shot of tequila and a game of poker. In his gruff voice with a smile and twinkle in his eye, he would likely now say: "Hey! Stop reading the obituaries, and get back to work!" We love you, Joe. We miss you.
