Joseph Repella, Jr., 90, of Ridgely, Maryland and formerly of Arnold, Maryland died of natural causes on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the home of his nephew William Jones and his wife Mary.
Joseph was born on April 29, 1925 in Shoesmaker, Pa.,(Manhanoy, Pa), to the late Joseph, Sr. and Mary (Rojanski) Repella.
Joseph served in the United States Navy during World War II and retired after 26 years of service. Then he worked with the Army as a civilian and later with the School System for Anne Arundel County. He married Evelyn (Jones) Lopez in 1952 and lived in Arnold, Maryland until he moved to Ridgely with his nephew.
He enjoyed camping with friends and family, fishing and later in life he was know to enjoy singing Karaoke at the Annapolis Moose Lodge and various other places. He enjoy just being with people in general and those who knew him loved him and enjoyed he stories of his youth and travels with the Navy.
He is preceded in death by, his wife, Evelyn Repella, his parents Joseph, Sr. and Mary (Rojanski) Repella. His sisters, Olga Repella, Patricia Ann Repella, Anna (Klitsch) and Christine (Uber) Repella. And his brothers, Albert, Stephan, Nickolas and Paul Repella.
He is survived by his sisters, Kathryn Bolish, Virginia Stremba all of Mahanoy, Pa and Elizabeth Yanchus of New Jersey and his brothers William Repella of Dawsonville,Georgia, Robert Repella of Mahanoy City, Pa. and Theodore Repella of Sheppton, PA., along with many nieces and nephews as well.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on September 10, 2015 at the Asbury United Methodist Church on Church Road, Arnold, Maryland.
Burial will be private at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Maryland.
