Joseph Nemarich, 91, of Baltimore (formerly of Silver Spring MD and York PA) passed away on November 28, 2019 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Peter and Jennie Nemarich on March 13, 1928 in New Orleans, LA and raised in New York City.  Joseph earned his Bachelor's degree in Physics from the City College of NY in 1949, a Masters degree from the University of Michigan in 1953 and a PhD from the University of Maryland in 1964. He retired in 2005 after a distinguished 52 year career as a senior research physicist with the Army Research Lab in Adelphi MD.  He was an adjunct professor of Physics at American University in the 1970's, held patents and was the author of  numerous research journal papers and recipient of several scientific achievement and government service awards.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Agnes Angelika Nemarich (nee DAS) of Baltimore; his brothers Sam Nemarich (Joan) of Old Bethpage NY and Dr. Alfred  Nemarich (Marilyn) of Avon CT, his son Christopher Nemarich (Mary) of Arnold MD and their children, Christopher, Catherine and Joseph, and his daughter Dr. Judith Feick (David) of Newark, DE and their children John and Megan. He was predeceased by his former wife, the mother of his children, Patricia Rostella.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 5-7pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2019 at 11am at the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow to Meadowridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Augsburg Lutheran Home at 6811 Campfield Rd, Baltimore, MD, 21207.
