Joseph Michael McCahill passed away on December 26, 2016.  Joe was raised on Long Island, New York but spent the majority of his adult life in Arnold, Maryland.  Joe was working as a Real Estate Agent when he met the love of his life, Catherine McClellan.  Joe and Cathy were married for 21 years prior to her passing in November of 2008.  Joe was a dedicated and loving husband to Cathy and a wonderful stepfather to her two children.

As a young man, Joe served in the Army and became a Vietnam veteran.  He worked for the McDonalds Corporation for many years before transitioning to real estate.  Joe eventually made the leap from selling houses to renovating and building them, and was self-employed as a general contractor for over 20 years.  Joe was active and hardworking and loved to shoot skeet, fly fish and attend Navy football games.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife Catherine, his father, Donald, and his mother, Mary.  He is survived by his stepdaughters, Lauri Bowdring of Alexandria VA and Aimee McClellan of Wilmington, NC, his son-in-law Bill Bowdring of Alexandria, VA and his two grandchildren Nathan and Colin Bowdring of Alexandria, VA.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 2-3pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Memorial Service will take place immediately following the visitation in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
