Joseph V. Martin, 75, a 23 year resident of Millersville, MD, died on January 25, 2011 at his home.

He was born on July 17, 1935 in Philadelphia and was raised in Philadelphia, where he graduated from West Catholic High School. Past residences include; Houston, TX, Nassau in the Bahamas, Woodbridge, NJ, Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC.

Mr. Martin served in the Army in the early 1960's. He played minor league baseball for the Cardinals and also played baseball in the Army. He was the Director of Reservations and Telephone Sales for Eastern Airlines for 30 years and then served as the Vice President, Reservation Sales for Encore Travel prior to retiring. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of SKAAL Club, American Men's Association, Rotary Club, Big Brothers, Boys Club of America and Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents James and Mary Martin, his sister Marguerite Sivak, and his brother James A. Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Martin and his sons; Sean L. Martin of Millersville and Ryan J. Martin of Towson.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, January 28, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park.
