Joseph Di Liberti 87, of Severna Park, died May 23.
He was born July 18, 1921 in Secaucus N.J.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Newark College of Engineering. He also attended Setan Hall School of Law.
His career in research spanned from the 1950's employed at US Testing, as a regional sales manager for Fedders Corp, the Navy at Brooklyn New York research lab, and the David Taylor Research Lab in Annapolis until his retirement in 1984.
He served in the Army at the rank of Corporal during World War II as a Flight Simulator pilot trainer.
He was a loyal member of the American Radio Relay League for over 65 years and was an amateur radio operator. He was very involved with family and especially the scholastic paths of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Corrine Di Liberti, who died in 2004.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years Margaret Mackin Di Liberti; one son Joseph Di Liberti of Severna Park; two daughters, June Di Liberti of Annapolis, and Cheryl De Liberti Goldsman of Laguna Beach, Calif; one brother, Dr. Charles Di Liberti of Dallas Texas; five grandchildren, Nicole Gregory, Jacob Goldsman, Aron Goldsman, Marisa Goldsman and Alyssa Goldsman.
A celebration of life funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28 at Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial is immediately following the service at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 1122 Sunrise Beach Road, Crownsville, MD.
