Joseph H. Dunton Jr (Joe), 85, beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Severna Park, MD, passed away at home in Bradenton, FL on July 27th, 2018.

Born in 1933 and raised in Philadelphia, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Doris who passed away in 2002.   He is survived by his three children: Jeanne Abel (husband Doug) of Wayne, PA, Melanie Kelly (husband Dave) of Catonsville, MD and Joe Dunton (wife Melanie) of Tampa, FL; eight grandchildren: Megan Browhawn (husband Sam Hooks), Allison Brohawn, Derek Abel, Carly Brohawn, Cassie Abel,  Garrett Dunton (wife Kelly), Jaxon Dunton, and MacKenzie Davis; brother David Dunton and sister Dorothy Shaner (husband Bob).

Joe was veteran in The US Army (Korea). His career in the paper industry spanned over 4 decades and he was a recognized and respected figure in the industry, serving on the Standards Committee for the Use of Permanent Paper for Biomedical Literature for the Department of Health & Human Services and on the Standards Committee for The Permanence of Paper for Publications and Documents for The US Library of Congress.  In retirement he worked for Enterprise Car Rental.  Joe enjoyed reading, fishing, and spending time with his family on the beaches of Long Beach Island, Outer Banks and Anna Maria Island.
