Joe Bronitsky, 77, of Arnold MD passed away on Friday December 10, 2016 at Hospice of the Chesapeake after losing his battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Charles and Betty Bronitsky, he moved to Maryland in 1971 to work at Westinghouse which later became Northrop Grumman.  Joe knew from an early age that he wanted to be an engineer and earned his master degree in electrical engineering at City College New York in 1965.

Joe is survived by his loving wife Alda of 42 years.  They were married in Annapolis, Maryland on April 24, 1974.  Together they enjoyed their mutual passion for travel.  Europe was a constant favorite but they also enjoyed their visits to Israel, South America, China and Southeast Asia.  Everyone who knew him knew that he would come back with vivid details of his latest trip.  Some said that after listening to Joe they often felt that they had gone with him.

Joe also enjoyed taking his sailboat out on the Magothy and spending time alone in the quietness and peacefulness that the river offered.

He was a friend, mentor and adviser to many and his integrity, caring nature and warm sense of humor made him liked and loved by all who knew him, even though his Brooklyn attitude was always with him. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving with his wife is his son, Charlie Bronitsky of Foster City CA, his daughter, Bonnie Kelly of Chandler AZ, grandsons William Bronitsky, Zachary Kelly and Jacob Kelly, his sister Edie Lang of Flat Rock NC and his nephews Jeff Lang and Aaron Lang.

Friends & family may visit on Wednesday, December 28 ^th from 2pm to 4pm and again from 6pm to 8pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home at 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park MD 21146.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
