Joseph F. Baker, Jr., 76, a resident of Denton, MD, passed away on January 26, 2017 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton.

He was born on December 11, 1940 in Baltimore to Joseph F. Baker 1 ^st and Gladys (Kirby) Baker. He attended City College High School in Baltimore and University of Baltimore, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. In addition to Baltimore City, he previously lived in Pasadena, MD, Huntington, MD and Denton, MD.

Joseph served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1988. He was employed with the State of Maryland Comptroller's Office until his retirement in 2004.

He was a member of Veterans Affairs and the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club.

Joseph loved spending time with his family, riding motorcycles every day, rooting for the Baltimore Ravens and the Orioles, camping, and loving his dogs and cat.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy George; one son, Joseph F. Baker, III of Pasadena; two grandsons, Jake George of Easton and Joseph F. Baker IV, of Pasadena; one granddaughter, Erika George of Easton; son-in-law, Bill George of Easton; former daughter-in-law, Tobey Patterson of Pasadena; one brother, Skip Smith of Largo, FL; brother-in-law, Pete Bailey of Reisterstown; and his beloved dogs and cat, Mandy, Bailey and Bobbi.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 11 am-12 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park, where a Funeral Service will begin at 12 pm, after the visitation. Interment will follow at Loudon Park Cemetery, 3620 Wilkens Ave, Baltimore, MD 21229. Immediately following the interment family will receive guests at 457 Larkspur Lane, Severna Park, MD 21146.
