Jon Olson passed away tragically on February 23rd at the age of 36 while vacationing with his wife, Nicole, in the Dominican Republic.

Jonathan William Andrew Olson was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 1, 1986. He became the child of Donald and LouAnn Olson shortly after, through adoption. Later that year Jon, his parents and his older brother, Matthew, moved to Waco, Texas, where Jon spent the remainder of his childhood. Jon was an active child and loved being outdoors and playing sports. Jon played basketball and was especially gifted in baseball. Many of his favorite childhood past times involved summers spent at Little League games, traveling for select teams, and participating in All-Stars. Jon was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Dallas Cowboys. His love of sport was fostered by his dad and shared by his brother.

Jon graduated from Midway High School in 2005, where he received high honors academically and excelled in athletics. In 2011, Jon met the love of his life, Nicole Roy-Harrison. They embarked on an exciting adventure that would take them from Texas to California and then to Charlottesville, Virginia. Jon and Nicole married on May 17, 2014, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. In 2015, Jon received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Virginia. During this time, he also became a passionate Virginia Cavaliers fan. Jon and Nicole celebrated the arrival of Johnny on May 7, 2016, and Nathan on May 28, 2017. In 2019, Jon was able to find and reunite with his birth mother, Trudie. In doing so, he was able to find answers to lifelong questions and develop a loving relationship with her and her family, which included newfound siblings. During this same year, Jon, Nicole, and their boys moved to Maryland to be closer to their family. They eventually settled in Severna Park, Maryland. Jon's education and personal achievements led to a successful career as Branch and Regional Operations Manager for Posner Industries.

Jon's enthusiasm for life was infectious. He had an exceptionally warm and caring heart. If you were lucky enough to be loved by him, you felt it deeply. He had the most genuine laugh and would go out of his way to get a laugh out of those he loved. Jon was outgoing, funny, and fiercely loyal while maintaining an undertone of sensitivity, kindness, and humility. Jon loved all things sports; the camaraderie he found with his friends and family and the pride he felt as an unwavering fan. Jon instilled his intense love of sports, particularly for the Cowboys and Cavaliers, in his sons. He also stepped in to support their skills in baseball as coach. Jon was also an avid traveler. His favorite place to visit was the Roy-Harrison beach house in Nags Head, North Carolina. He also enjoyed vacationing in Costa Rica. During his travels he demonstrated his adventurous palate and respect for interesting cuisines. Jon's excitement for food made him someone a chef would welcome at their table. During his travels, Jon expressed his love of nature, animals, and the outdoors. Nicole and Jon shared a love of fishing and being on the water. Music was also a love of Jon's. His eclectic taste ranged from country, to blues, to rap. He would not pass up an opportunity to hear live music, particularly if someone was ripping a guitar solo. Jon had a depth to his personality that highlighted his natural charm. He enjoyed learning about different people and places and was never lacking in interesting facts about obscure topics. He never shied away from a friendly debate. He had a fondness for history and knowing the whys and hows of the world. Jon was also a proud and doting uncle to his nephews and niece. And had a very special connection with Nicole's parents, her siblings and their significant others, who shared in most of Jon's happiest moments and who were lucky enough to be considered Jon's greatest friends.  Jon's life's joy was making memories with Nicole, Johnny, and Nathan. He saw the family they created as his greatest accomplishment. He was the most loving and dedicated husband and father. Jon came alive when in the presence of his boys. Jon and Nicole shared a love and bond that was extraordinary and timeless. Jon lived a full life in the years he had, packed with countless beautiful memories. We are all better for having had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He will be forever in our hearts and forever missed.

Jon leaves behind to grieve his loss his wife, Nicole; sons, Johnny and Nathan; mother, LouAnn Olson; brother, Matthew Olson; father-and-mother-in-law, Bill and Alison Roy-Harrison; sister-and-brother-in-law, Jessie and David Roy-Harrison Bridges; brother-and-sister-in-law, William and Gwen Roy-Harrison; nephews, Max, Tristan and Owen; niece, Alora; mother, Trudie (Troy) Wilson; brothers, Jeremy Trent and TJ Wilson.
