IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jon R.
Schumacher
September 29, 1954 – June 2, 2020
Jon Schumacher peacefully passed away in his Ellicott City home with his wife and daughter at his side. He was born in Morehead City, NC in 1954, but moved to Severna Park with his family at the age of four. He graduated from Severna Park High School in 1972 where he played the trombone in the concert and stage bands and was a proud member of the marching band where he was a drum major. Jon then attended Ohio Northern University where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He graduated in 1976 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Westinghouse (now Northrop Grumman) for 36 years as an engineering manager. Jon loved to travel and especially enjoyed trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Germany, Switzerland, London, and Israel. He was a music, car, and boat enthusiast and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He is loved by his wife of 38 years, Carmen, his daughter, Christina, and his niece, Alena. He is survived by his mother, Jane, and his two sisters, Debbie (and her husband, Bob) and Claire (and her husband, Marty). He was predeceased by his father, Ray. Jon battled cancer for 9 years and encourages his loved ones to have a wonderful life.
The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, Jon requested that donations be made to Bethany United Methodist Church in Ellicott City in his memory.
The family made a video tribute link they would like to share with everyone:
