Johnny Lee Grindstaff, age 79, died at home on February 6, 2015 in Baltimore, MD. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Olson Grindstaff, his four children, Gregory Grindstaff (Lesa) of Greer, SC, Jeffrey Grindstaff of Covington, LA, Mary Jane Evans (James) of Annapolis, MD and Michael Grindstaff (Debra) of Chester Springs, PA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John Jeffrey, Patrick, Mary Katherine, Victoria, Matthew, Stephanie Grace, James, Emma, Erin, and Mary Eileen.

Johnny was born on September 29, 1935 in Old Fort, NC to parents Ernest and Althea Grindstaff. He was the youngest of eight children. He joined the Air Force in 1954. He married in 1958 and had a 33 year career as a State Farm Agent in Glen Burnie, MD. Upon retirement in 1997 they moved to Hilton Head Island, SC. He spent the last two years at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD near family.
Johnny was a social active man who was deeply involved in many philanthropic organizations and was an avid golfer. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and caring father, husband and friend.

Services will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Church at Charlestown Retirement Community, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Monday, February 9, 2015. Visitation at 2pm, Mass at 3pm, with a reception to follow.
