John W. Wenger, 80, a resident of Severna Park for 34 years and formerly of Thomasville, Ga., died of heart failure July 22 in his home after a long illness.
He was born April 16, 1928, in Baltimore, where he was raised. He graduated from McDonogh School and earned a liberal arts degree from the University of Maryland in 1948.
He was a retired plant manager for various printing companies.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He enjoyed going to garage sales and golfing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Lee Wenger.
Survivors include one son, Rick M. Wenger of Martinez, Ga.; and one sister, Laurette Scharper of Lutherville.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
