John H. von Hollen, of Severna Park, MD, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully following a valiant and long battle with leukemia on December 21, 2024, at the age of 61. He was the beloved husband of 36 years to Colleen (Wesley) von Hollen; the quintessential girl-dad to Courtney von Hollen, Emily (Joseph) Booth, Hayley (Max) Sherno, and Hannah von Hollen (Nic Lombardi), adoring grandpa to Madison, Hollen Marie, Auggie, Josie, and a grandson on the way; son of Ruth (Kuzma) and the late Henry J. von Hollen; brother to Julia (Ken) Leonelli and Richard (Cynthia) von Hollen; son-in-law of Frances (Collins) and the late Richard J. Wesley; forever fur dad to  Elmer, Twilight, Teach, Lexi, Foster, and Iggy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends. John worked as a successful Sales Manager for Bodybilt/Ergogenesis. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, listening to books on tape, and golfing. He was a fierce fan of his beloved Pittsburgh sports teams, but only second to all of his daughters' many sports teams.

He cherished traveling to visit his daughters, which also meant trying that local brewery, winery, dive bar, bakery or deli (he'd find it & get the t-shirt!). He loved day trips to Assateague Island and especially liked visiting Topsail, Tybee, and never met a National Park he didn't like. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 6 to 8 PM at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11 AM, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Munhall, PA. Everyone please meet at the church.
