John Calvin Shaak, 75, of Severna Park, Maryland passed away peacefully on June 5, 2025 at a local nursing facility surrounded by family. His passing followed an extended hospitalization and courageous cancer journey.

Born in Newport News, Virginia on May 7, 1950, John spent years travelling with his parents and siblings. He expressed a fondness for England and Alaska where he spent much time. John was a classic car enthusiast, frequently attending car meets/shows in his '72 Cutlass Supreme and participated in the Severna Park 4th of July parade annually. After 32 years working for the same furniture company, John retired. He loved camping, especially in Blackwater Falls, and cherished time with his grandsons.

John was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred and David, sister Ann, and parents Warren and Mildred. He is survived by his wife Susan, daughter Shelby, sister JoEllen and two grandchildren, Jackson and Liam.

John will be remembered for his love of family, willingness to help others, and ability to fix anything given to him. He always had clever comebacks and loved wearing his t-shirts with funny sayings. He had the best life stories and experiences to share with loved ones, as he always lived life to the fullest. His family will greatly miss the impromptu adventures and weekend drives. They will forever be thankful for the time they had together and lessons he was able to instill.
