John Anthony Rosso Sr., age 64, passed away on Friday, July 23 rd at University of Maryland Medical Center while battling leukemia.
John was born on October 31, 1950 in Baltimore, MD. He grew up in a family of 7. He attended Polytechnic High School in Baltimore and graduated in 1968. He went on to attend UMBC and received a Bachelor's degree in American history. For the majority of his career, he served as a Director of Human Resources for many firms in the greater-Baltimore area such as Under Armour, Gould Fiber Optics, and AllRisks, Ltd. John was a consummate entertainer, making sure everyone in his presence felt comfortable and appreciated. John loved spending time with his family while eating good food, drinking good wine, having a lot of laughs and taking great care of the ones he loved.
Being born and raised in Baltimore, he was a huge fan of Orioles Baseball and Ravens football. He had a keen interest in history, James Bond/classic movies, collecting antiques and sports memorabilia. He was a role model to many. Without knowing it, John taught others how to treat people, how to be optimistic in a world that challenges, to show great patience, to work hard, and of course to love and prioritize his family.
John was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife Colleen Rosso, his mother Mary Sacco Caldwell & stepfather William Caldwell, and father Vincent P. Rosso Sr. & stepmother Patricia Rosso. A brother to six siblings including Vincent P. Rosso, Jr., Chris (Rosso) Jordan, Robin (Rosso) Greenwell, Randy Caldwell, Laura Shenewolf, Phyllis Caldwell, John had a large extended family and many friends.
He is also survived by his beloved children Kristin (Rosso) Milito & husband James Milito, John Rosso Jr. & wife Priscilla (McGarity) Rosso, and his three stepdaughters Jennifer Fitzsimmons, Amy Paul, and Elizabeth Malcolm. One of his greatest joys were his grandchildren Isabella & Dominic Milito, Patrick & Owen Fitzsimmons.
Family and Friends may visit on Monday, July 27th, 2015 from 2-4 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held immediately following at 4 pm. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
