IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John W.
Milone
May 24, 1956 – May 5, 2017
John William Milone, 60, of Arnold, Maryland, adoring husband of Laurie, died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on May 5, 2017, after fighting an extended illness. He was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio until the age of 17 when he moved to Severna Park, Maryland. He attended Centerville High School in Ohio and graduated from Severna Park High School in the class of 1975. He graduated from Salisbury State University where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was President of Brittany Builders and worked in the Millwork Department at the Home Depot in Annapolis for nearly 20 years.
John enjoyed time at the beach, Ravens and Notre Dame football, M.A.S.H reruns and Animal House, and cutting their two acres on his big green tractor. He was a loving husband, caring son, thoughtful brother, uncle, stepfather and grandfather who would do anything for his family. He also was an avid storyteller, whose stories grew bigger and better each time they were told. John was a Civil War buff and deeply interested in current events. He had a mischievous smile, dry sense of humor, and would never fail with a joke at the dinner table. He always had a "thumbs up" attitude and there was never a person who was not considered a friend.
John is survived by his wonderful wife Laurie, his parents Robert Milone, Sr. and Jean of Severna Park, stepchildren Sarah Mangos (George Mangos) of Denton and Ryan Ferguson of Pasadena, his sisters Buffy Milone Jordan (Sandy Jordan) of Arnold, Megan Milone Davis (Stephen G. Davis Sr.) of Severna Park, sister-in-law Kim Mahrer of Denton, brother-in-law Michael Mahrer of San Diego, California, grandchildren Gyes and Luca Mangos, His nieces and nephews Caroline Petrovick (Bethany Ellis), Arthur and Lucy Ellis Petrovick, Stephen (Annie Davis), Melinda, Gretchen, Courtney, Jack, Catherine and Christopher Davis, Maggie, Tommy Mahrer and Nikki Turley. He is predeceased by Melinda Milone, Robert Milone, Jr., and John Paul Petrovick.
