John "Jack" Louis Bishop, 80, a resident of Severna Park for 48 years, died on July 31, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.

Born on May 20, 1933 in Monkton, Maryland to his late parents Winton Bishop and Bina Blevins Bishop. Jack retired as an electrical engineer from the Department of Defense after 32 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria Crane Bishop. He is also survived by his sons: Brian Bishop and his wife Veronica Bishop, Evan Bishop and his wife Kristy Bishop, his daughter Amy Bishop Duvall and her husband David Duvall and "daughter by choice" Deborah Simmons and her husband Bill Simmons.
He is the grandfather of four grandchildren: Erin Bishop, Megan Bishop, David Duvall III and Connor Duvall. He is also the great grandfather of Camden Gibson.

Friends may visit on Wednesday August 7 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, at 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Memorial Service will follow at 5:00 p.m. at the same location. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery will follow at a later date.
