John E. Listman, Sr. of Pasadena MD was born December 31, 1927 and died on June 25, 2012.
John was the proprietor of Listman's General Store, established in 1928. He became the owner in 1959. He was a volunteer fire fighter at Earliegh Heights Fire Department from his teenage years into his adulthood. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
John was an avid hunter and his hobbies included antique collection and restoration. He especially enjoyed antiques with moving parts as he always liked to be on the move himself. He is remembered fondly and he will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Scholtz Listman and their ten children: Anita Kajs (Leonard Kajs), Bonnie Thompson, Henry Listman (Mary Listman), John E. Listman, Jr., Conrad Listman (Estrella Listman), Adolph Listman, Catherine Moore (Patrick Moore), Jacqueline Moore (Matthew Moore), Kurt Listman (Anastasia Listman), and Kim Listman. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his father Conrad Listman and his mother Louise Listman.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, June 28th and Friday, June 29th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, June 30th at 10am with the interment to follow at Moreland Memorial Park Cemetery in Baltimore.
