John Baptist Larbalestrier, loving husband to the late Cici Larbalestrier, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at the age of 71. He was grew-up in Berkeley Heights, N.J. and graduated from Governor Livingston High School, where he was known as a talented athlete in both football and baseball. From there, he joined the Army where he fought in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery and leadership. After the war, he married Camilla "Cici" Summers and started his own successful business, " Labal Incorporated ". Together, John and Cici raised their family in New Providence, NJ. John and his family eventually moved to Lebanon Township in Hunterdon County, and ultimately retired in Lake Gaston, NC. He is remembered for his big smile, sense of humor, caring heart, sarcastic wit, courage, love of fishing, gardening, dogs, the ocean and always beating everyone at cards.John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Alisa Larbalestrier of Baltimore, Md.; his daughter and daughter-in-law, Karen Larbalestrier and Stephanie Smith of Yardley, Pa.; his five grandchildren, Emily, Alexis, Benjamin, Harper and Crosby who all called him "Papa"; and friend Marie Smith.Memorial contributions may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America ( www.vva.org ) or Wounded Warrior Project ( www.woundedwarriorproject.org ).
