John Hobert Kimble, 75, of Severna Park, Maryland, was killed, Thursday, May 29, 2008, in a head-on collision while in route with his wife, Pierrette Kimble, to visit his sister and her husband in Inwood, West Virginia.

He was born and raised in Landis, West Virginia, where he joined the Armed Forces and was deployed to France. There he met his wife of 52 years who is currently recovering from the accident at their home in Severna Park, where they have resided for over 50 years.

He obtained his Communication Engineering degree while working at Martin Marietta. He later went to work in the Baltimore/Washington Metropolitan area as a Medical Field Engineer for over 40 years successively with Westinghouse, CGR Medical, and GE Medical.

In retirement, he enjoyed his Sundays golfing and his anticipated travels to Europe with his wife. He was a kind, gentle, and patient man who lived his life fully. He leaves behind great memories for all those who knew him. He was truly loved and will be missed just as much.

He was the son of the late Eston and Dora Kimble. His siblings Jean Nelson of Martinsburg, WV, Joan Borror of Petersburg, WV, Barbara Thompson of Ohio, Sylvia Ours of Martinsburg, WV, James Kimble of Belair, MD, Randy Kimble of Petersburg, WV, and many loving nieces and nephews survive him. An infant brother, his sister Emily Florence Kimble, and brothers Kenneth and Eston Kimble Jr preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 5th, between 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home in Severna Park, Maryland.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 6th, at 12 noon at the St. John the Evangelist in Severna Park, Maryland.
