John "Bill" William Kesner, 73, a resident of Severna Park since 1975, passed away after a short battle with cancer on May 18, 2018. Bill was born on October 22, 1944 in Brookhaven, MS to James and Naomi Kesner. He was raised in Brookhaven, MS and Shelbyville, TN. He graduated from Central High School in Shelbyville; received his B.S. from Georgia Tech; and his M.S. from Michigan State University. He worked at Westinghouse's Oceanic Division for 23 years, Honeywell, and finished his career at Vencore Inc. He was a member of the IEEE and treasurer for the Westridge Community Association for over 20 years.

Bill loved puzzles and games of all kinds. He sang in the church choir and in numerous other choirs. He loved barbershop quartets, puns, and being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rita Payne Kesner; his daughter, Rebecca Kesner St. Andrie and son-in-law Kevin of Bowie, MD; son, Jonathan Lloyd Kesner of Millersville, MD; brother, James Robert (Bob) Kesner and sister-in-law Faye of Fairborn, OH; sister Naomi Joyce Adams of Murfreesboro, TN; and grandchildren Elizabeth, Stephen, and Daniel.

Visitation is May 29, 2018 at Barranco & Sons in Severna Park from 5-8 p.m. The funeral service will be May 30, 2018 at Severna Park EP Church at 10 a.m. Interment follows at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
