John Phillip Hudak, 83, died at home in Annapolis on November 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Carl Hudak, who passed away on May 13, 2013.
Born in Baltimore Maryland, he was the oldest child of Marie and John Hudak.

He graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Baltimore, and the University of Maryland. He worked for many years as a mechanical engineer with companies such as Martin's, Northrup Gruman, and Gould. He worked with hydraulics on submarines and naval ships, as well as other types of engineering projects with numerous government contractors in the Baltimore and Washington area. He enjoyed his work immensely, and was adept in using AutoCAD. After retirement, he worked as a consultant in this field.

John was an avid skier, sailor, and Colts and Raven's fan. He enjoyed following the UM lacrosse team, doing sudoku and crossword puzzles, and building model airplanes, cars and boats. A Germanophile, he was fluent in the German language, and visited the country as often as he could. He was interested in anything mechanical, such as steam engines and aircraft. A voracious reader, he read across a wide variety of subjects.

There will be a memorial gathering at 2:00pm on Sunday November 17, 2013, at the Grand Lodge of the Bohemian National Cemetery at 1300 Horners Lane, Baltimore, MD 21205.
Mourning John's death are his cousin Paul Langford and his wife, Susan Gallo of Annapolis, his cousin Joan Peters of Austin, Texas, his cousin Ann Langford and her husband Jerry Grout of Southern Pines, North Carolina, his aunt, Loiuse Taborsky of Towson, and 16 other cousins and their families.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, Philanthropy Dept., 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
