John B. Hewitt, Jr., 63, a resident of Ridgely, MD, died on January 03, 2009 at Anne Arundel Medical Center, due to complications of pneumonia and cancer, after a brief illness.
He was born on July 30, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, where he was raised. He had previously lived in Severna Park for 25 years.
Mr. Hewitt was a retired Marine Construction Foreman from Martin Imbach Company.
He loved hunting and the outdoors and was the coordinator for Federal Hill Farm Hunt Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Sherry L. Hewitt and Cynthia L. Brown of Severna Park, MD, son-in-laws Gregory L. Horne and Jeffrey B. Brown of Severna Park, MD; and one granddaughter, Lauren O. Brown of Severna Park, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 8 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 9 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, MD.
