John William Hancock, 57, a resident of San Mateo, Calif., for 15 years, died unexpectedly of natural causes April 8 in his home.
Mr. Hancock was born May 3, 1950, in Bethesda to Mary L. Hancock of Severna Park and the late Woodrow L. Hancock, and was raised in Hyattsville.

He worked as an electrician for San Mateo Local Union 6.

He enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family, and Harley Davidson motorcycling.

Survivors include two brothers, Woodrow S. Hancock of Johns Island, S.C., and Charles L. Hancock of Urbana.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 308 Oak Manor Drive in Glen Burnie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 308 Oak Manor Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
