Robert Gibson

Services for John Robert "Bob" Gibson, 60, of Arnold and formerly of Severna Park, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville after Friday's service.

Mr. Gibson died July 23 of injuries suffered in a jet ski accident in Middle River. An article on the accident appeared in The Capital on July 25.

Born in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 13, 1945, he was reared in Glen Burnie and lived in Severna Park for 23 years before moving to Annapolis and Pasadena. He resided in Arnold for the past four years.

He worked as a salesman for Enviro-Zyme. From 1963 to 1966 he served in the Army.

His interests included golf, cooking, travel, boating, antiquing and reading about history.

He was formerly married to Carole Sacks of Ferndale.

Surviving are one daughter, Jennifer Gibson Peckman of Severna Park; two grandchildren; one brother, Don Gibson of Glen Burnie; one sister, Joan Smith of Little Rock, Ark.; and three step-children.
