John Field Tooles of Severna Park, MD died August 1, 2011 at the age of 65. John was a selfless, devoted and loving husband and father. John had a deep appreciation for all aspects of boating and was an accomplished sailor. His love of the waterways of the Chesapeake brought him great joy.

John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Stephanie Hubbard Tooles and his son, John Hubbard Tooles of Severna Park, MD. In addition, John is survived by his mother, Pamela Field Tooles of Stowe, VT and his sister, Stephanie Tooles Ferguson of Richmond, VA.

John served in Vietnam while in the United States Army and retired as a LTC in the United States Army National Guard. At the time of his death he was an administrator in the United States Secret Service.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St John Neumann Catholic Church, 620 North Bestgate Road, Annapolis MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 6 Herndon Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403 or the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, 213 Talbot St., St. Michaels, MD 21663.
