July 5, 1930 – March 15, 2005
Born July 5, 1930, and reared in Baltimore, Mr. Ellis served in the Navy. He worked as a plumber and pipefitter for the government before retiring in 1995 from the Naval Academy as a civilian.
He was an avid golfer and a member of Bear Creek Golf Club. He also was a ranger at the Naval Academy Golf Course and member of the Kennel Club of Severna Park, the Fleet Reserve, American Legion Post 175 and Kent Island Elks. A loyal Ravens fan, he was a member of Ravens Roost 33.
He is survived by his daughter, Anita L. Ellis Merson of Annapolis, and three grandchildren.
The widower of Lillian V. Ellis, he was the brother of the late Mary Inredore, Dorothy Burns and Leroy Ellis.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 5829 Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn.
